The purpose of the dinner is to discuss potential topics, speakers, and programs for the upcoming year. The Education Committee Chairs and the New Attorney Round Table Chairs will be present to discuss and solicit ideas for future MCLE programs. In preparation for the dinner, the Education Committee will propose relevant and interesting topics for which speakers would be appreciated including but not limited to:

2020 Seminar Topics:
• Attorney Business Succession
• Sub-Trust/Stale Trust Funding Issues
• How to Review Estate Tax Return
• New Firm Panel
• Cannabis and Real Property
• Elimination of Bias & Substance Abuse (may need to be an evening, 2 hour event)
• Fiduciary Accounting Program

2020 New Attorney Round Table Topics:
• Business Interests/Succession in Estate Planning
• LLC Agreements/Partnership Agreements in Estate Planning
• Probate Ancillary Administration/Special Administration
• Small Estate Administration
• Fiduciary Duties of Trustee - Successor Trustee taking over after death of Surviving settlor/explaining duties/roles/responsibilities
• Timeshares and Trust - "Exotic/Unusual Trust Assets and how to deal with them"
• How to draft effective amendments to trusts that were drafted by another attorney
• Multi-state clients/ multi-state trusts i.e. clients live in another state but have assets in CA, clients lived in a non-CP state but now reside in CA
• Power of Attorney - HIPA considerations; Springing/Durable POA for Asset Management
• "Estate Planning without a Trust" i.e. will drafting for guardianship of children/individuals that don't have significant assets for a trust; Joint tenancies, Transfer on Death
• Probate Fees - this was a popular topic last year that we may want to include again
