Title: Charitable Giving

Description: Regardless of tax situations, many of our clients are interested in improving their communities through planned gifts. We have the opportunity to appropriately participate in this legacy giving by providing guidance and tools, from simple to complex. Come hear ideas and perhaps be inspired by Leslie Sugai and Mary Quilici Aumack. They will present mechanics and ideas, some tried and true and some perhaps new to you.

Topics will include: CRTs, CGAs, Donor Advised Funds, Family Endowments. Many of these vehicles can be used to complement each other and bring value to clients

About our Presenters: Mary Quilici Aumack and Leslie Yarnes Sugai

Mary Quilici Aumack is the Executive Director of the Catholic Community Foundation of Santa Clara County. The foundation creates “Forever Value” through Donor Advised Funds, Endowments, Planned Giving and community grant making. Prior to joining the foundation, Mary’s career was in high tech. She “retired” in 2004 as a Vice President for Hewlett Packard, where she managed a $1 Billion Enterprise Distribution business. Mary has a strong background in philanthropy. She is a former board member and current emeritus board member of Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County. She is a member of the Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University.

Leslie Yarnes Sugai is a partner in the Los Gatos law firm of Sugai & Sudweeks, LLP. Ms. Sugai has been an attorney for over 25 years and has been designated a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She practices in the areas of estate planning, trusts and estate administration, Medi-Cal and special needs planning, and conservatorships. Ms. Sugai has previously lectured to attorneys and other professionals on estate planning and trust administration matters. She is a member of the Silicon Valley Bar Association, the West Valley Bar Association, Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law section of The State Bar of California. Ms. Sugai earned her B.A. degree from the University of California at Santa
